Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” Sued for Plagerism

Avril Lavigne’s song “Girlfriend” is claimed bearing too similar lyrics to a 1979 song and the songwriters are now suing for it. This is a turn up for the books. Avril is currently signed to Sony BMG. I wonder who will really win this little battle, the multinational of Sony BMG or the little songwriters. We will just have to wait and see.
